Service Description
Next session March 7th 10 am, select date on calendar to watch live UK time or book a place to receive recording to watch later! This session has been created in response to the huge demand from professionals and families. The aim is to look at next steps for all learners, focusing on how to plan for those who may be 'stuck' or require a more bespoke approach to the teaching of reading. The importance of ensuring whole school and home school engagement are at the heart of any approach to reading is highlighted throughout. The session will be a mix of practical strategies and discussion, focusing on, • Where to begin with the teaching of phonics – using a validated or bespoke approach • What does fidelity to one approach look like for learners with SEND/ complex needs? • How do we plan for accessibility, engagement, and motivation for all learners (including older learners, those who may be preverbal or have significant complex needs) • How to ensure a whole school approach, and effective home school partnership throughout • Feedback from schools around what has worked so far and next steps
