Each session combines clear theory, practical classroom strategies, and structured reflection time.
Sessions are suitable for mainstream, special, and alternative provision and are designed to be watched individually or as a complete professional learning pathway.
What’s Included
Each session includes:
A recorded session (approx. 60 minutes, often longer with reflection prompts)
A dedicated Wakelet with tools, exemplars, and further reading
Practical tasks to apply learning in real classrooms
Additional downloadable resources to support implementation
Session 1: Inclusive Literacy – Values, Vision and Foundations
This session establishes a shared understanding of what inclusive literacy really means in practice. It explores literacy as a right, not a reward, and examines how values, beliefs, and expectations shape daily provision.
Session 2: Removing Barriers – Access, Engagement and Participation
This session focuses on identifying and removing common barriers that prevent learners from accessing literacy. It supports educators to think proactively rather than reactively when planning learning.
Session 3: Progression and Assessment in Inclusive Literacy
This session explores how to recognise, plan for, and assess meaningful progress in literacy for all learners, including those working below age-related expectations.
Session 4: From Learning to Practice – Embedding Inclusive Literacy
The final session focuses on implementation and sustainability. It supports educators and leaders to turn learning into consistent, embedded practice.
